Re: Soap carving.

I had the Cubs do their soap carving in our house. The mess that followed
(predictable) was impossible to clean up (unpredicted). The "shavings"
from the soap get worked into the floor. What did I learn: cover the floor
with several layers of newspaper--one layer is simply not enough.
I don't know what soap works best; the harder the soap the better. But
several boys were very disappointed when they split their carvings by trying
to take too large a cut. Patience is needed, much more than with wood.
