Hey, Jim,
I haven't any idea how litigant Canadian society is. But in the US, there are
people who will sue you for sneezing near them, claiming you were trying to
infect them with whatever it is you have that they don't want. I know that this
is an extream example, but it plain doesn't pay to have too much fun here in the
States, because sure enough, someone is just waiting to pick a fight with you
over some small issue, wammo! major law suit. If some scout had a cut and got
dirt in it and it became infected, then if his parents were the sue* happy type,
then the BSA could find itself facing yet another frivilous law suit against its
good name.
Please don't think that the BSA doesn't want the kids to have fun, as an ASM, I
know that our troop wants the kids to have a blast(not literally) however we
can't financially afford anymore to let boys be boys.
