There is an exception to this (isn't there always). That is when the advancement
ceremony is the highlight of the evening.

Most years our 5th graders cross over in January. This year they were delayed
because all but one was a new Cub last fall and they needed to get their time
in (before anyone flames, we are on year round school and "fall" is in July/
August). So the main program for the B&G is an all ranks advancement ceremony
and crossover. We are holding it at a local campground so there will be no
fake fires and there will be the perfect backdrop (hopefully starry sky).

PS: We have our SME presentation in March. Who wants a nice dinner spoiled by
a pitch for money.
