Intro from Iceland

Hello all.

My name is Bjarni Larusson and I live in location near Reykjavik, Iceland.
I am a Scoutmaster with Cub Scout Troop in one of 10 scout groups in
Reykjavik.
My group have 4 scout troops (age 11-15), 2 Cub scout troops(age 8 - 10) and
one group with senior scouts (age 16 - 18). Then we have a club/troop for
troopleaders and old scouts. We have both girls and boys, but in separated
troops.

I have just recently started subscription to this list and like it. It's
just amasing.

As my scout group have access to internet through modem from our scouthouse,
many patrols are intresting to have connection to scoutpatrols/troops from
other places in the world.

Last autum I happent to be 'looking around' on IRC when JOTA, (Jamboree On
The Air) was 'on the air'. On IRC was channel named JOTA (and few others
with scouts and there was lot of scouts talking together. Most of them
was from New-Zealand and Austalia, who was responsible but also many other.

My opinion is that this should be regular part of 'WORLD SCOUTING'.
It must be set up program for such meetings. For example, next 22nd of
february we can have open Scout channel on IRC.
I am very intresting about this matter. Please let hear from you.

Now I must stop.
I hope I will get some response.

Yours in Scouting.
