I saw this note on the long rumored TV show about problems with Girl Scout
Cookie sales being on this coming Thursday night and thought I would pass it
on to the net.

There will be a special online conference Thursday 1/27 to discuss, and
during
the CBS show "Eye to Eye" with Connie Chung.
The subject of the CO will be The Eye to Eye show, which will be
interviewing
Beth Denton, a former GSUSA leader from CT who feels that too much of Girl
Scout cookie sales are being siphoned off for maintenance of the
professional
staff", and led a boycott against the sales.
Chung's sister used to sit on GSUSA's board and Connie was a Girl Scout
herself.
Some councils depend on the sales to fund professional staff, and could
suffer
major layoffs of professionals if sales are hurt by this show.
The conference will start at 9pm eastern, the same time as the show, and
will
continue during the show/segment, and afterwards to hash this out.
All those interested in scouting and fund raising should stop in, even if
you
are not part of the GSUSA organization, since this could have future
implications for GSUSA and BSA.
So, participate in OUTDOORS first online-live conference.
(We realize the notice is short on this, we put this together during
Tuesday's
scouting conference, and it is a hot, just breaking issue.)
