Just a small, but I believe, important point. BSA requires only that a boy of t
he correct age, sex, and believes in a supreme being. There are no other requir
ements, rite of passage, etc., and initiation requirements are expressly
and clearly forbidden. The search for the "smoke bender" for a new scout is in
itself an example of what is forbidden.
On the fleur-de-lis ---- that is (with the scout emblem) a copyrighted insignia
of BSA and thus can only be used on, by, for, approved by national display. Sin
ce the APO is not a part of BSA, it should no right to use our insignia. I know
what APO is, by the way, my Eagle son is a life member.
Just a point of info----
