Mike-
In your posting on Eagle questions, you mentioned the GSUSA First Class award.
Granted the girls had to do alot to be awarded the first class (I know,
I recieved the first class award in 1970)...however, it no longer exsists.
The highest award a girl can earn is now the Gold award. If you thought
the 1st Class was alot of work...check out the requirements for the Silver
(cadettes) and Gold (seniors) awards. My daughter is just starting her
service project for the Silver Award, after spending a year and a half
(including the summer) completing the preparetory requirements. Most girls
spend two years fulfilling the initial requirements, then 6 months to a year
on the service project.
