I disagree. A scoutmaster I once worked with once told me that one of the
greatest things about scouting is that it provided scouts with the
opportunities to fail. Scouting is suppose to be a learning experience,
think about the things you remember most, frequently they are based on yours
or someone elses failure. The Scout tries to do it, if he succeeds great,
if he fails he will probably learn even more form the experience than if he
had succeeded. The role of the adults in this is to catch the scout, but
only enough to prevent injury. If the menu is bad and they are stuck with
it, then next time you can bet they will spend more time to try and get it
right! Don't suppliment unless starvation will set in.
