in reply to the question concerning a FEmale SM at a lad-dad:
If a MALE SM is not a father, you could pose almost the same question?
What role does the SM have for the event?
If the SM is helping STAFF the event, male or female should have no impact.
You could (AND I DID) pose the converse question for a MALE leader at
a MOM & ME!
And just as a note from past experience. . . Mom's or Dad's that have
little OR NO camping experience, appreciate someone with some knowlege
"watching" over them in the words! However, I did find that some Mom's
and even a few Dad's did not appreciate late night campfire stories of
the nature of a local BIG foot or lions and tigers or bears etc.
I think the parents took the storied more serious than the kinds :)
So, in my final 2 cent opinion, if you are the leader, YOU SHOULD BE THERE!
Don I,
former Cubmaster, Web deb leader, Mom and Me & Lad & dad staff etc.
