Year-round School and Scouting

The school district where I live has year-round schools, but only for
the elementary schools. This hasn't posed any problems relative to
summer camps since all tracks in the year-round schools have July off,
and those that are 12 years old (6th grade) will be going into jr.
high/middle school the following September and also have August off (I
should point out that this area has a high LDS population and the 11
year-old scouts -- "Blazers" -- typically don't participate in summer
camps). Also, most Council camps don't start their summer camp
programs until the end of June.
The only difficulty I've seen is where a 12-year old, still in 6th
grade, wanted to attend the Jr. Leader Training Camp (_Silver
Moccasin_ in our Council), which is always around the 3rd week in
June; he had to skip school for a week, but everyone agreed it was
worth it.
