Hang in there and don't give up on the Scouts-L group, don't think anyone
was trying to put you down. I have heard arguments also that Buddhist are
for the most part atheists. I would guess that the religion is perhaps broad
enought to cover folks that believe in a God, several Gods, or no God. The
problem may be one of definition, most of us with a background of
Christianity/Jewish western religion have a picture in our minds of a super
natural all powerful type of God, folks with a different type background
when they try to fit their concepts into the western religion picture, they
may conclude that they do not believe in God and are there fore atheists.
this might be the case with your family.
