I hope that this thread will soon be replaced by more constructive issues for
scouting, but I do want to make one last point on this issue. Sexuality is a
moral issue for many of our parents. While many of us may argue, with merit,
that our boys should be exposed to these issues of sexuality, I will always
argue that the decision of when and how to teach our boys about sexuality
should not be the purview of scouting. This is a parent's role. I know that
many would argue that parents are neglecting this role. True enough. Many
parents find it easier to ignore many social issues. That's not the point.
Scouting has made the correct decision in leaving the introduction of sexual
issues of our society to the parents of our boys.
