I agree completely with Mike Kilgore's statement. If you have all parts
of the program, planned and in place, with support and programs for the
older boy, I have seen from experience that First Class, first year works.
Involve your parents, do Venture, teach merit badge classes as part of
the troop meetings, go to ballgames, or something and you will not lose
the older boys. LET THEM RUN THE TROOP with your guidance through PLC.
