In George Washington Council NJ, our price is $150 for a week:
We get
A great camp area just 1/2 mile under the Appalachian trail in the
Delaware Water Gap.
Canoeing, Rowing, Sailing, Swimming, Kayak, included is a high adventure
Canoeing overnight trip.
Other overnighters:
Night on the Ridge: Overnight on the Appalachian Trail. When it is
clear skies, the most popular event.
Wilderness/Pioneering excursion: Backpack, no tent, make shelters from
available.
Terrific Environmental center/astronomy. They offer all the usual
stuff including Reptiles, Mammals, and only recently dropped Pets.
Arts and Crafts center. They did this one right. It is impossible
to earn the Art or Wood Working badge in a week because they won't
make light of the requirements but Basketry, Wood Carving, Leatherwork,
Metal Work, etc. are all available and possible.
You may cook in site or use the camp dining hall. Same price either
way so most of our guys eat five of six days in the dining hall and
cook once. THE FOOD IS GREAT (better than I eat at home for
breakfast and lunch, dinner meals are as good).
COPE course, with a qualified, certified COPE instructor.
Competition grade Rifle Range, Shotgun Trap range, and Air Rifle
range is under construction.
I cannot understand why anyone would balk at paying $150 for this week.
I know I have left some stuff out. For those of you in Watchung
Council, you are getting one great camp in our merger.
