My experience in the 60s was the same as yours Chris. I wore my uniform to
school even in Junior High. My Troop marched in the Memorial Day, 4th of July
and other community parades. I did this even as a senior in High School. It
didn't bother me a bit. In fact, our uniforms were nicer looking a much more
practical than what my friends in the Marching Band were wearing. <bg> If
course, being starting guard on the football team probably stopped a lot of my
peers from giving me a hard time. It didn't matter, I was a Scout because _I_
wanted to be one.
