Fred:
At the time of printing (this spring), the National Conservation and Engineering
Service (who administers the Hornaday Awards program) did not have the
completed, current requirements prepared in time to be included. Therefore,
they left the old requirements in the book. This has been brought to Pat
and Steve's attention at the National Office, and they are working with
the Editorial folks to come up with a "insert page" after the first of the
year with the current, complete requirements and a description of the
process used to earn the award.
That was one the first places I looked when I saw the new book. If one
also notices, the typestyle is different (I say smaller, but I didn't have
a 1991-93 book to compare it with....I don't have a personal copy of the
new requirements book yet (had to pay those bills first!!) ).
Some Scouts and us "old Scouters" may have a problem with the new typestyle.
It was done to conserve paper pages.
