Re: Academic Requirements for Jr. Leaders

This role should rightfully fall to the parents, not to the unit. It would
be an invasion of privacy (my opinion) to require anyone to disclose their
grades.
In our family, we require that homework be completed prior to attending
Scout meetings. From time to time, this means that a meeting is missed.
If we experienced academic difficulties (like all Fs), Scouting, along with
other activities, would be curtailed until work was back to standard.
Occasional poor performances are handled on a case by case basis. But,
this is never the responsibility of the troop.
