Hello

My name is Jorge Dam, advisor of the Explorer Post 919. We are sponsored by the USDA Forest Service, Caribbean National Forest in Puerto Rico. Our specialty is Forestry but we also deal with tourism, fisheries, endangered species reestablishment, conservation, etc.
We are celebrating our third anniversary this month and we are proud to be the recipients of last years award as the Best Youth Volunteer Group in the USDA Forest Service system.
All this Exploring-Venturing situation is very confusing. I have attended in the last month training's and meetings were we have been explained on the creation of Venturing, and all that is OK. My problem is, what is left for Exploring? BSA took Outdoors out of the six areas of experience of Exploring, does this mean that Explorers don't do outdoors?
My Post is career oriented. But our program is based on the outdoors. When I presented the option to the membership of the Post to change to Venturing, they voted unanimously against the change.
If anybody has information on this question? It would be very helpful.
100% Exploring
Jorge Dam
