Hello everyone!

Jean-Francois Lagarde (aag160@hermes.ulaval.ca)

Hello everyone,

My name is Jean-Francois Lagarde. My "totem" is "Grand Duc Accompli", It's
the scout name they gave me ( Bp's one was Impeesa (I think)). Grand Duc
Accompli means in english Great Orned Owl Accomplished ( I think ) It's
the animal that represent me the most and "Accompli" is because I always
try to do the best I can, I always try to get better and better at serving
people, helping others. I always try to leave the world a little bit
better than it was yesterday.

I'm 17 years old, and I'm involve in scouting since 8 or 9 years now. In
fact, I went to my first scout camp when I was 1 year old ( but I don't
remember of course *smile* ) Anyways, I really love scouting, It's my way
to live and I'm really proud to be a scout.

I'm from Quebec City, Canada. I usually speak french so pardon me if I
make some mistakes in english. I'm now a "Pionnier" (Venturer I think in
English...) I really like that. We did a lot of project this year. The
last one we did, was two weeks ago, we cleaned a river which was passing
in our city. About 10 kilometers of river to clean. About 150 volunteers
helped us for that great service activity. There was a kind of party
after in the afternoon.

I'm also a little bit involve in the Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT) which
will take place for the second year on May 15th 1999. 23 000 scouts hit
the trails in about 12 countries in 1998. A great success. For more
information, check our web site:
http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/u/lkmorlan/JOTT/

I'm also involve in the preparation of the JAM DES NEIGES 2000. The first
Winter Jamboree of the history which will take place in Quebec City, from
December 27th 1999 to January 5th 2000. I hope to see you there with all
the 10 000 scouts from all around the world. Check our web site at:
http://www.jamneiges.org/

Like you can see, I'm new to this list. I think it's really great to be
able to share ideas, project, and other scouting things with scouts from
all around the world. We are 25 millions scouts on this planet. I think
we could be over 40 000 on the internet. We could use internet to get
together and build something great, a better futur through scouting.
Thanks to the one who is taking care of this list.

I was wondering how many people have subscribe to this mailling list? How
many are we now? I would like to have some comments on how you live
scouting in your part of the world. I would like to hear news of you,
your group, your activities, your project, etc. I would also like to
visit some web sites, the scouting web sites that you know, it can be
yours or any other you have heard of. This will help me a lot to
construct the web site of my group, to give me some ideas on what to
include in our web site.

Thanks a lot,

Scoutly yours,
