It states on the Explorer Application (no. 28-309L), that the Explorer,
Parent, and Advisor must sign to the fact that the applicant is "14
years of age and completed the eighth grade or am 15 years of age and
not yet 21."
The National guidelines are clear, and are there for a reason. As an
Advisor, it is my responsibility to protect the youth as well as the
Chartering organization and myself from accident and liability. If we
register youth that are outside registration guidlines, then we are
setting up a litigious opportunity.
Be responsible. If youth want to join, they will wait until the time is
right.
