Re: A Few Questions

1) Are there leadership positions in an Explorer Post, like Patrol
Leader, Scribe, SPL, Quartermaster, etc.

Generally, yes. There is a president, 1 or more vice presidents,
secretary, treasurer, or anything else the post wants.

2)If you are wearing the Kelly Green standard explorer uniform...do
you wear your boy scout rank that you earned at your home troop, what
about wearing any awards that you earned while in your home troop, or
must you only wear Explorer awards, or badges you earned while an
explorer

The only Boy Scout rank thast you would be able to wear is the Eagle
Knot. I'm not a uniform expert, but most of the knots that I wear were
received while I was an Explorer.

3)What are profficency awards, how do you earn them.

I dunno

4) Does an explorer post HAVE to focused around one career or area,
such as aviation, law enforcement, sea, fire services, or can it be a
mixture of many

Absolutely not! Ther post can participate in a wide variety of
activities. However, it probably wouldn't be feasible to run a post
that does law enforcement, aviation, and high adventure at one time.

5)Does being an explorer have any affect on your participation or
relationship with your home troop if the post is not directly
sponsored by your home troop

No. You would be registered as a Boy Scout -and- as an Explorer. If
you want to be active in both units, go for it.

6)Is it possible to be a part of an explorer post, and a boy scout
troop at the same time

Yes. It's called dual (or multiple) registration

7)Does being part of an explorer post affect your regular rank
advancement

Only if you quit your troop before you're done with your Scout
advancement. If you do, there are restrictions as to what you can work
on.

8)VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY
USED EXPLORER UNIFORMS!! (mail order, store, etc)

You local council office might know where to find uniforms.

IMPORTANT!
Some or all of this may be thrown out of the window on 1 August when
the BSA will make major changes to the Exploring program. For more
information, take a look at the official memo from National at
http://www.geocities.com/~wsbsmith/change.html or stay tuned to the
discussions on this list!
