Dual registration ?

Has anyone thought of taking their Post and registering them
as another Unit to benefit from both programs? This could be
a useful idea to a limited number of Posts. This idea will most
likely cause some controversy, but is it any different that having a
Varsity unit and a Scout troop? If a unit did this they could chartered
under one organization and then setup as charter under "the parents of
XYZ community". This idea has been used military Scout troops that lost
the chartering org because of reduction and or closing of military bases.
