Now, I think this is really interesting. After the Southern
Region meeting, my Exploring district DE told me that my
post could change from computers as a career field to
computers as a hobby activity and we could stay in the
traditional scouting program, venturing.. whatever..
Since our Post tends to participate in district/council
activities, the members may want to go for "Computer
Venturing" (!??!!?). Guess they'll have to vote on it soon.
I'm getting more and more concerned that this whole
LFL-Venturing thing is a poorly thought out knee-jerk.
Along the same lines and in light of the recent decision in
Berkeley CA, we've come to the conclusion that Sea Exploring
/ Sea Scouting should clearly move to Learning for Life.
Discussions by the EOA here are fairly unanimous in this
regard and we certainly intend to present this concept to
Southern Region. I know I'm personally supporting the move
by calling and writing to everyone I can in Irving ;-)
