RE: Starting an EOA

In my experience, telling ALL Post Officers that they are automatically
members of the EOA has worked best. Some Officers have more time than
others, and I have often been really impressed with the work done in the
EOA by a Post Secretary who had that extra time and level of commitment.
You don't want to start by eliminating anyone.
I agree. I have also found the most effective EOA participants were those
who brought 2-3 other officers with them. EOA officers seemed to work
better in groups. I also allowed the post to operate better because the VP
or whomever would pick up the slack at one level on an officer was working
at another level.
However, this is also were we got a lot of criticism. Advisors were worried
we were going to steal their officers. That is something to watch out for
and make sure you do not do. You are there to support posts, not create a
super post.
