Chris:
Just a minor clarification. Yes, there are Exploring sailing units that
are not traditional Sea Scout Ships but decision has been made yet about
whether they will be remaining in Learning for Life Exploring or going to
Venturing. The National Sea Exploring Committee is trying to get that type
of question sorted out even as we speak. Stay tuned.

My friend in the New Venturing Division of the BSA has informed my that
most likely Venture Crews will remain within units as a patrol (Name change
uncertain), while Venturing Crews will operate as a standalone program and
unit. Holding true to the current Exploring membership standards of
Outdoor/High Adventure Posts. 14.5-21 years, and Male/Female to the
Charter
Organization's decision.
And yes there are some Sailing Posts out there that have currently a Sea
Explorer Classification. So they will go the way of Career interest rather
than Sea Scouts or Venturing.
