To Bill Sills

Bill, saw this on another network and thought it would interest you, looks
like Sea Scouts they are talking about.

The California Supreme Court ruled last month the Boy Scouts are not covered
by state civil rights laws and can exclude gays, agnostics and atheists.

The Berkley Waterfront Commision, a government entitywhich is responsible for
policy and operations at the Berkley Marina, has told the Boy Scouts that they
are in violation of a policy adopted last year that denys rent- free slip
spaces to any group that denys membership on the basis of age, race, religion,
sex, or sexual orientation.

The Boy Scout Explorer program has two vessels docked at the marina that may
need to find a new place to tie up rapidly. The slips would rent for about
$350 per slip per month.

Members of the glocal groups parents' committee plan on asking the board to
amend its ruling, citing the value of the program. Local schools also tour
the vessels as educational field trips.

Keep ya posted!
