Hi All
AS Bill has mentioned Sea Scouts and ther Ships are very different to that
of explorer-Posts. I can understand the rigidness of the system because
safety first approach is always important. And some of the things that they
talk about is totally foreign to me and I am almost ready to ask for an
interpreter (hehe). If some of you who are also on the sea scout net you
would have recently read about peoples unfortunate hiccups.
But I have also noticed that the Sea Explorers are social with other ships
because of competitions etc.
The question was asked what do we do when we get togetther, this varies from
a social camp at the beach, to competitions or helping out other units
successfully complete an activity. Such things as inter Unit challenges are
not unheard of doing such things as wide games. The Old Venturer Motto was
"look wide".
As for what the Queen Scout is all about, it is basically the mental,
social, physical and spiritual development of our youth members. The Queen
Scout Award has just changed and I will have to get my hands on a new
Passport to explain how it is Brocken up, or maybe Joanne can help me here.
The other factor which has not been looked at is that here in Australia
Venturers Meet weekly, what about explorer Posts and Ships?
Ciao
Mark
