RE: Freeze-O-Rama

Hi All,
This discussion is quite interesting. I thought my two-cents might be
helpful.

As a graduate and former Post member, I know the Explorer Post at the
Air Force Academy runs a Freeze-O-Rama every year that gets rave reviews
from all of the local units. I've been gone for about 3 years now so I
don't know if it is still going on. As I remember, it is open to Boy
Scout units and up. They have all kind of events and everyone has a
great time. It also gives cadets (who are stuck there all the time) a
chance to have some fun and get a break from the daily grind at the
Academy. In addition to the cadets, the Academy provides lots of
support (from water to toilets to emergency assistance).

I don't have any points of contact, but I do know that the Explorer Post
is in the Pikes Peak Council of the BSA in Colorado Springs, CO. I'm
sure someone at the Council office there will know what you are talking
about and can point you in the right direction.

Tony, PS.... Some of us Air Force types can take the cold weather
...Good luck and have a great time!
