For what it's worth, paintball IS forbidden by BSA. I know of units that
have done it, but they do it as a "submarine" activity, with no official
paperwork, etc., and usually don't advertise it. It can also get a little
pricey.
We have done laser tag with our troop which is tamer (and cheaper), and
apparently is grumpily condoned by the establishment. We did have a parent
beef (he felt that it was an unscoutlike activity), but it was a horrid night
weather wise and the kids had a great time.
