1998 National Explorer Leadership Conference

So... here we go.
Dates - Tuesday, July 14 through Saturday July 18, 1998. Posts and council
contingents will register on Tuesday with dinner that evening being the
first meal.
Location - Washington DC. Staying at the University of Maryland's campus.
Fee - $325 per participant. $275 for staff.
Schedule - The conference opens Tuesday with registration, opening day
activities and great exhibits followed that evening by an opening show and
dance. Wednesday we will all head to the Capitol and Mall Area for National
Exploring Leadership Day. Thursday will have competitions during the day,
our ever-popular Wacky Olympics after dinner, and an evening extravaganza
climax. This will include major door prizes, Wacky Olympics awards,
campaign speeches by the National Presidential candidates, and a dance.
Friday's offerings will include many on-campus activities such as
rappelling and Discover Scuba and tours to government and historical areas.
Friday night is the grand finale with the awards ceremony followed by a
farewell dance. AND, this is only a sampling of the activities to be
offered.

Advisor Activities: Advisors are welcome to observe many of the competitive
events, but for those who want a break, there will be a variety of
worthwile seminars, activities, and recreation just for advisors. A
leader's lounge will also be available for those who want to kick back.
