Mark,
Several of my Venturers and I spent the weekend in lean to shelters built
on a wilderness island on the North Saskatchewan River near here. The
temperature fell to about -20 (C, not F), and we had a marvellous time. A
small campfire provided warmth, and we slept warmly and comfortably. Are
we jealous of your weather? You bet, but we can ski and snowshoe here for
three or four months, never have tropical storms, and make pretty good use
of the winter.
