A little more on the merit badge books.
Of course, I have a BSA Requirements Book and I expect the Scouts to meet
the current requirements. I have many resources for the merit badges I
counsel and I have background and experience in each area. But, I expect
the BSA Merit Badge Book to be the Scouts primary written resource.
My concern was that the books sold to Scouts in our Scout Shop may or may
not be current. I don't understand how the organization can sell Scouts
books that it knows to be out of date. At the very least, we should give
Scouts an addendem sheet with updated requirements in any changed Merit
badge Book.
High tech or low tech, there must be a way we can do this.
