Chicago Area Councils

John Pannell (PANNELLJ@DELPHI.COM)
Mon, 30 Dec 1996 20:03:09 -0500

It may be not much more than a toy or a "game" for me but...

I want to create an image map showing the councils in the greater Chicago
area. I have already scanned a map of the area, and may try scanning a
different map tonight to get a wider area. However, I need to know what the
council boundaries are. These boundaries are all rather "crazy" to me and
do not follow county lines in any recognizable way.

About 15 months ago someone had sent me a description of the various
councils' territories, but when my former computers died earlier this year,
that was lost.

I suppose I could contact the various council offices and *perhaps* get
someone to tell me what their boundaries are, but I thought I would ask here
first. Can anyone from the Chicago area supply me with an approximate
description of their council's boundaries... or even better, the same for
all the councils in Chicagoland??

(yep, that's a tall order!)

I can decipher my own council (Three Fires) and I would suspect the Chicago
Area Council covers the city of Chicago (and probably only the city), but I
have no real idea for the others beyond being able to locate their
headquarters.

Thanks.

YiS,
John Pannell, Assistant District Commissioner
Three Fires Council, IL
