Re: Cub Scout Woodbadge

Kim asked questions about Cub Scout Trainer Wood Badge. I have seen
several good responses to her question, but most are answering from a
Boy Scout perspective. It is my opinion, from having attended both Cub
Scout Trainer and Boy Scout Wood Badges, that the conditions Kim
described would be as much a factor for her Mountain Top experience.

I feel, as I know do others, that Cub Trainer WB is a much more strenuous
course than the Boy Scout counterpart. But, it is in the Mental way more so
than physical. Sure there will some walking and other slight exertion, but not
a fraction of what you find in BS WB.

Although I am sure it will be best for Kim to do her all to get her health in the best
possible condition, she won't be doing any 10 mile hikes. And her Doctor will have to
give his OK on her Class 3 med. form.

Anyone that gets the privilege of an invitation to attend Cub Scout Trainer Wood
Badge should certainly give it considerable thought. It is only offered 8 courses of
64 per year, and is in my opinion, the Premiere adult training made available by
BSA.
