I just bet the version of the song you learned was A Pukeko in a
Ponga Tree :) A wonderful children's book and great indigenous carol
:)

Vegemite is well loved here in NZ as well - don't believe your NZ
mum - it's a personal taste thing. My Guide unit had an indoor
holiday a couple of weeks ago and had each kid bring a spread for
toast in the morning (so that we guaranteed there was something
there that they would eat) We had quite a few vegemite jars there.
The alternative spread is Marmite which my sister swears by but I
think is revolting. (A lot of people reckon they can't tell the
difference between the two - I definitely can!) I'm with Sarah (And
Greg on the milo :) )- nothing like Vegemite on toast with a cup of
hot Milo for Breakfast :)

Are they coming to NZ for a visit as well? Good fares between NZ
and Aus. Arohanui :)
