Troop461 Louisville, KY Crusade for Children

Glenn Darwin (gdarwin@IGLOU.COM)
Fri, 31 May 1996 12:48:08 -0400

This is to introduce myself (which I admit has taken to long) and our troops inv
olvement
with the Crusade for Children.

I am an Assistant scout master for troop 461. We are chartered by Highview Fire
Department in Louisville, KY. The troop has around 30 to 40 scouts.

One of the events that we participate in, is a telethon put on by WHAS in Louisv
ille.
The telethon is to raise money for children in the Kentucianna area. Fire fight
ers play
an important role in raising money for the Crusade. The first weekend in June i
s
Crusade weekend. During this weekend Troop 461 has the best turnout of any event
we do
because the scouts get to ride the fire trucks to help collect money.

The Crusade is the most successful single station telethon in the country.

To help raise money for the Crusade, troop 461 has placed a pledge form to colle
ct
pledges on the Net. There is information on the Crusade also linked to on the ho
me page.

Please stop by and check us out:
