Hello Rob,
Your fishing Derby sounded great. I see that you presented certificates, which w
as a
real good idea.
May I make an additional suggestion.
Hand out copies of the Cub Scout Sports book for the "Fishing" belt loop, sports
award
card, pin and letter before your next Derby. Then each boy can be presented a
"Fishing" belt loop the day of the event. If they get a parent to work with the
m they
could earn their "Sports Letter" and "Fishing Pin" to wear on it. As a matter o
f fact
you could hand out "Fishing" belt loops at your next meeting.
As an final thought, I know this can be costly on the Pack to do this, so charge
each
family a Fishing Derby registration fee to cover your overhead (books, belt loop
s,
cards, etc..).
