The computer software provided by national to the councils for record
keeping has a four digit field for unit number prefixed by a single
letter unit type designator and a hyphen, i.e. S-0052 is Troop 52.
Also, the first digit of the (national) number is used in our council
to designate the unit type, 0 for Troops, 2 for Posts, 3 for Packs,
6 for Teams, and 8 for districts.
