I remember singing this song as a youngster.
Here is the chorus and the verses I recall
from the version we used
(plus a next-to-last verse of my own invention).
By nature it is one of those endless songs with
countless versions, a verse contributed here
and another there in any-number-can-play fashion,
and I expect you will get lots more responses,
So have fun.

Young folk old folk everybody come
Join the darkies Sunday school and have a lot of fun
Be sure and check your chewin gum and razors at the door
And you ll hear some Gospel stories like you ve never heard before
Adam was the first man that ever was invented
He lived all his life and never was contented
The Lord made him outa mud in the days gone by
And hung him on the fence in the sun to get him dry.
Adam was the first man and Eve was his spouse
They lost the job o stealin fruit and went to keepin house.
All was very quiet and peaceful on the main
Til along came a baby and they started rasin Cain.
The Good Book says Cain killed his brother Able.
Hit him over the head with the leg off a table.
Cain just laid the table leg on brother Able s head
And when he took it off, he found poor Able dead.
Acording to the Lord s instructions Noah built an ark
Got the creatures in it just as things were getting dark
Then he knelt down and told the Lord its starting in to pour
And the Lord told him Noah, hurry up and shut the door.
Esau was a cowboy of a wild and wooly make,
Half the farm belonged to him and half to brother Jake
But Esau thought the title to the farm was none too clear
So he sold it to his brother for a sandwich and a beer.
