As a youth in the late '70's I was a member of Troop 1323 in Sunrise District
of Suffolk County Council (NY). The troop was originally numbered 177 then
changed when the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1323 became our sponsor
About a year later we returned to our original sponsor -- a local PTA
(remember, this is the '70's! <g> ) -- and our number reverted to the
original.
At that time we were the only troop with a four-digit number in that council.
