Norton Antivirus warning

I am posting this to several groups so you don't get burned like we did. We
recently bought a new computer with Windows95 to be used by the general
public. Before letting people use it we wanted an antivirus program and
chose Norton because we had used the old Windows version and have been
happy. After I installed it and rebooted the computer a message came up
that some of the boot files had been changed; did I want to repair or
inocculate them? Like an idiot I chose "Repair". DO NOT DO THIS!!!
It destroyed the boot files and some of the Windows files. It is beyond
recovery. We will have to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall
everything.
When I called the Norton people they said I should have chosen "Innoculate"
instead of "Repair".
If you get this message after installation I would suggest calling the
Norton people before doing anything. You DO NOT want to go through what I
have the last 2 days.
We will continue to use the program once we get it installed properly
because it is a good program. I suppose that any antivirus program can do
this if mishandled.
