GREAT NEWS, Good News & News!

MAN!! I can't get ANYTHING past some of you rather
observant Scouters!! *heheheheehee*
I'll be leaving late this evening for Fort Knox (my hometown)
via Indianapolis to participate in my unit's "Annual Training".
I place "Annual Training" in quotation marks because while
we are using AT funding, the real purpose of the nine days is
to get the rest of the Command ready to move overseas to
Germany *next month* sometime, if the timetable holds (and
so far, it has).
I'll be *reading* my email while at Fort Knox, but my responses
will be haphazard to say the least until I get back on the 11th.
Which leads me to my GREAT NEWS!! I'm EMPLOYED AGAIN!! (Jessica is more
excited about this more than anyone, I'm sure!) I'll start work with
mentally disabled
people as part of Green River Services on the 14th. While
its NOT my most ideal sort of work, it is a position whereby I can use some
of this rather expensive graduate education
with, and this makes me happy to have invested the amount
I did.
The new "888" number is our new number here at Blackeagle Services....now
that I can be assued that our rent and phone
bills can be paid *on time*, we decided to turn on the phone
line and get a new number. If I'm not here, please leave a voice
message and either I'll call or Jessi will call back.
Finally, and this isn't meant to be a negative, my mother-in-law
("Momma Ryan") will be staying with us for a while. I kinda
planned on her being here with Jessi while I move onward to
Germany once more; Jessi's newlywed brother and sister-in-law needs the
*privacy* for a while, so daughter and
mother will be here in our scenic view place for a while. I mention this
only because she has manged to help me do more
inward reflection on my postings whenever she's here. She's
also a coffee drinker and CNN newshound, so on my off days,
I'll have company while I "catch up". I love her company and
enjoy watching her watch mysteries on A&E and figuring out
"whodunit" before the detectives, investigators and police
do!!
The "bottom line" is that after my return from Fort Knox, my
responses here and everywhere else will be somewhat slow
and a *little behind* (I'll try to keep up!). Please excuse my
occasional postings to topics that we've "closed up and moved onward" on.
I'm still working on the Scout Laws postings, and sometime this afternoon,
I'll have the ceremony for the BP Service Star
posted (which means that it'll hit tomorrow's summary more
than likely, for those of you using the "digest" feature).
I cannot express, without a lot of emotion, my personal THANK YOU to so many
of you that have helped me with job searches, passing my resume around
within your businesses and communities, and with phone calls and personal
email encouraging me-- and my wife -- not to give up and not to stop talking
with each other!! This has been a rather rough time, and ALL of you have
given us lots of hope and lots of assistance. Don't worry...we WILL be
able to meet you in person and thank you in person, and yes, even enjoy
fresh baked cookies and coffee!!
Things are somewhat still on ups and downs...we're doing things without a
car (my car bit the dust two weeks ago; a
new friend from work is coming out to take a look at it today)
but the city has a bus service and we have relied on friends to
take us to the store when we need to. Jessi and her mother
will be shopping for a new car within the next month, just in
time for me to leave for Germany (the deployment departure
date is now set for June 17th). The guy I'm replacing has
already set up my email account, and has cleared enough
disk space for me to save my mail while there. The only thing
I need to do once there is to drop the subscriptions here and
add it there.
Again, thank you all, my fellow Scouters and friends around
the virtual fire!! Jessica and I do very much appreciate your
concern, your prayers, and your help in getting me off the
unemployment rolls and back onto the world of work once
again!!
