Thank you to all that replied both publicly and privately to my Real
Problems posting.

I had to go back in for another emergency surgery on my eye (detached
retina)Sunday, but reading everyone's letters yesterday while
recuperating was nice to be able to do(even with one eye bandaged). I'll
probably contact a few of you directly later.

P.S. I discussed your collective comments with the comittee chair and we
have decided that the 19 year old will;
1. be removed from the youth roster and
2. a. be refunded the balance of his annual dues
OR
b. be offered a last chance agreement if he is willing, to be on strict
probation as a Mate with two specific responsibilities; 1. Rehabbing
small boats as defined and 2. Third captain to ensure ample vessels are
sailing the weekly twilight races. His girlfriend will not be permitted
to sail on his boat. His performance, attendance, attire, attitude,
respect and support will be watched carefully and any deviation will
result in immediate discharge. He will not be permitted to attend the
next four membership meetings, then he will attend the next four
meetings to listen and learn and not comment verbally or physically. If
this doesn't reign him in, then he's outta here!
