I am a Scout Roundtable Commissioner in Brooklyn, NY.

Our policy on announcements is simple.

1. Announcements are made at the end of the meeting.
2. If there is a flyer about the event, we call attention to the flyer; flyers are NEVER read to the Roundtable.
3. No announcements are made without prior clearance with the Roundtable Commissioner.

Some people get their noses out of joint, but the Roundtables move, everyone there gets the information they need and we end on time. (But often remain crakerbarrelish after the meeting.)
