Subject: Suggestions?

<A while back someone had mentioned that they ran a program for older Scouts
at their camp this past summer. ...>

Skip,

Camp Falling Rock has a couple of programs for the older Scouts. Daily high
adventure programs are
scheduled for those boys 14 years and older. They include Mountain Biking,
River Canoeing, Sail boating,
and a two day COPE / Rappelling activity. Each activity has an additional
charge for the equipment used.
They also offered trail rides in conjunction with the Horsemanship Merit Badge.

The other program is called The Foxfire Trading Company. This program is
patterned on the voyagers
and fur trappers from a century ago. Activities include flint and steel fire
starting, edible plant identification
(including meal preparation), rope making, blacksmithing, constellation
identification, tomahawk throwing,
candle making, and much more. The past two years I have spent the week there
and thoroughly enjoyed it.

YIS,
Bill McLeod
