Here's another question sure to generate some discussion. At the Committee
meeting last night we got to talking about parents paying for activities.
Our practice has been that drivers do not pay because they pay gas costs
(fairly high these days), and there's wear & tear on the car. Adults who
do not drive pay the same cost as the boys do.
There was a suggestion that since all the adults provide leadership & are
chaperones they should pay a lower cost or no cost. One parent who is
active in church youth activities was a little surprised that adults pay at
all. There was a counter suggestion that all adults pay and that drivers
get reimbursed for gas costs.
So here's a survey. Do adults pay the same fee as youth, go for free, or
some other arrangement? What about gas costs?
