Hi All!

Paul and Mike's comments are right on target.....but just another thought:

Check and make sure that it would cause no hard feelings with the unit
where the boys earned their Eagle or is fronting the bill for the COH. Let
me give an example. We had a couple of boys who dual-registered with our
troop and a Venturing Crew. They wanted to get their Eagle through our
76-year-old troop and indeed did complete the requirements and file all the
paperwork through the troop.

Now, our troop pays for the Eagle presentation kit, a neckerchief, a sheet
cake, punch, 100 invitations and 100 Eagle cups, plates and napkins for
each Eagle scout. The cost? About $200 per COH.

The boys, who had not really been active in the troop for several months,
wanted to wear their Venture Crew uniforms at the COH. Our committee was
understandably concerned that the boys wanted the distinction of getting
Eagle through the "mother troop" and that the troop was paying for the COH
yet the boys wouldn't even pay respect to the troop by wearing the troop
uniform. They voiced their concern and the boys did eventually end up
wearing the troop uniform albeit with a lot of grumbling........

Just a thought, that a little tact, might also come into play in this
situation.

BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
