Pro

Yes, Yes, Yes, Wherever they are needed or want to be.

> 2. Should women hold top positions in a Cub Scout Pack?
> Boy Scout Troop? Venturing Crew? If so, what?

Yes to all - sure we might prefer males, but we want the best person for the job
and that might not be a male in every case.

Why not? Common courtesy rules (SO&L) should be sufficient.

> 4. Should women be allowed to instruct the Scouts in basic requirements? If
> so, under what conditions?

Yes, if they are proficient in those requirements. YPP rules, same as male
adults.

> 5. What is your greatest fear about including women in Scouting?

That some macho guy might not be able to handle the fact that a woman can do the
job better.

> 6. What is your greatest fear about having women in a Scoutmaster position?

See answer to #6

> 7. Should women hold executive positions or any positions within the
> district or council? District Executives? Council Executives? If not, why?

Sure, all positions should be open to women and men who qualify.

> Crew?

Quality program

> 9. Should women be included on the basic training staff of Scoutmaster
> fundamentals, Woodbadge etc? Why? Why not?

See #8. If women can attend these courses, they should be able to staff them.

> 10. Should women hold postions on the District Committee? Council
> Committee? Why? Why not?

Yes, See #8

> 11. What benefit can come from excluding women from Scouting?

I cannot think of any.

> 12. What benefit can come from including women in Scouting?

We live in a plural society. We need to be sure our youth know how to live and
interact in that society.

> 13. Does your personal Pack, Troop Crew include women or exclude women from

Include - because we want to , need to and should.

> 14. Does your personal Pack, Troop or Crew include or exclude women from

See #13

> 15. Are your feelings regarding use or non use of women in your Pack, Troop

No

> Crews in your district or council in regard to women in leadership positions?

I'm sure that there are those who wish to exclude women and do. The two largest
troops are led by women - one was started by a woman and grew to over 30 scouts,
the other (100+) just appointed a lady SM. Both Wood Badge trained and fully
qualified to staff same.

Scouter - I do not label myself. Let others in my council do that.

> 18. What is your best advice for women considering joining the Boy Scout

Jump in, get trained and "Non Carborendum Est Illegitimatii"*

> 19. Vote, more female involvement or less female involvement?

More, less, the numbers will seek their own level. If men will not do the job or
are not competent, the ladies will.

> 20. If you could turn back the clock, should the BSA have stayed male

NO

Thank you, Linda, and thanks to all Scouters, male and female for the job you do
in the program.
