Laura and all:

Thanks for sharing from your heart...your love for your son shows in
your writing...

The question came up because from the looks of the comments
regarding recent experiences in Summer Camp, there are some
kids out there who really don't care...Who can blame them?
They're bombarded with constant sources of sex, violence, pain
and rage in music, tv, society...what types of examples do they
have to follow? The majority of what they see are BAD examples...

My experiences in education in college also fed into my asking this
question...I've SEEN first hand some of the uncaring, hate-filled,
non-chalant kids out there...I KNOW from experiences with my
step-kids, some kids just don't give a darn about anything...feel no
pain, no remorse, no sadness...they just don't care...

So, it led me to ask how ppl combat this in their
troops...somewhere society, parents, all of us have failed these
children...
