Since you say this is a huge controversy, it's far too late to do what I
would have done. I would have PRIVATELY counseled the YOUNG BOY (and
they're all young boys in Scouting) about the issue. To do otherwise means
somebody (and perhaps many in your local community) doesn't have a clue as
to what Scouting is all about!
It's not about you or me or all the rules, good and bad. ITS ABOUT THE BOYS!
(pardon my shouting, but I'm passionate about simple near meaningless issues
that can so easily be blown up and deeply hurt a boy)
